Not a comment on this but rather on the previous AEoC post, I appreciate the opportunity to checksome of their most recent stuff (I already was a big fan of their historic output) and I must say it is amazing: less adventurouus of course, but their take at Coltrane on the Dreaming of the Masters suite, for instance, is awesome. Thanks a lot, I'll appreciate any further post on the Chicago scene (also Muhal or other related musicians would be welcome!!!)
Exceptional thanks for posting these! Although I've owned most of the titles for years, a couple of the later works I let slip by- my loss. I always find the Ensemble passionate and engrossing- wish I could say that about some other improvisers of their generation. May I also recommend their latest set with a couple new members- it loosens my head...
